Zimmer Energy Transition Acquisition Corp. (Nasdaq: ZTAQU) is a blank check company formed to identify, acquire and operate a business in the energy value chain in North America, with a focus on opportunities in energy transition and sustainability.

We plan to target companies that serve rapidly growing segments in the clean energy ecosystem, including renewable power generation, energy storage, the distributed electrical grid, zero-emission transportation, zero / low-carbon industrial applications and renewable financing.

We intend to capitalize on the Zimmer Partners platform to identify and acquire a business that could benefit from its extensive network, transactional, financial, operational and investment experience.

Stuart J. Zimmer, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board

Stuart J. Zimmer is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Zimmer Energy Acquisition Corp., with extensive experience as a portfolio manager of energy and infrastructure companies and 30 years of expertise in analyzing opportunities across industries. Mr. Zimmer also serves as the Portfolio Manager and Chief Executive Officer of Zimmer Partners. Mr. Zimmer’s experience includes serving as a Research Analyst at Steinhardt Partners, where he focused on energy investments, including electric and gas utilities. Mr. Zimmer graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard College with Honors in Mathematics.

Jonathan Cohen, Chief Financial Officer and Director of the Board

Jonathan Cohen is the Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Zimmer Energy Acquisition Corp. Mr. Cohen has more than 23 years of experience in the finance industry and has spent the last 13 years covering U.S. utilities, independent power producers, renewable energy and clean technology companies. Mr. Cohen also serves as head of the Clean Energy Group at Zimmer Partners. Prior to joining Zimmer, Mr. Cohen was the Chief Financial Officer at Lancium, a technology company that designs software and solutions for responsive loads. He previously held investment analyst positions at Millennium Partners, ISI Group, LLC and Morgan Stanley. Mr. Cohen holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Kimberly M. Blank, Director of the Board

Kimberly M. Blank is a member of the Board of Directors of Zimmer Energy Acquisition Corp. and brings more than 15 years of experience as a management consultant, serving clients in a variety of industries including media, financial services, education and private equity. Since 2006, she has worked as an Alumni Consultant for McKinsey & Company, working for nonprofit institutions and on internal projects. Ms. Blank’s previous experience includes serving as a private equity investor at E.M. Warburg Pincus and Co. She is currently the Chairperson of the Education Committee of the Representative Town Meeting (“RTM”) for Greenwich, Connecticut, and has been an elected representative to the RTM since 2008. Ms. Blank has also served as a fundraising volunteer for Harvard College, PEN America and Carnegie Hall. Ms. Blank holds an A.B., summa cum laude, from Harvard College and a J.D. from Yale Law School. 

Paul J. Evanson, Director of the Board

Paul J. Evanson is a member of the Board of Directors of Zimmer Energy Acquisition Corp. From March 2013 to January 2018, Mr. Evanson served on the board of directors of American Water Works Company, Inc., and chaired the compensation committee. Prior, Mr. Evanson served as Chief Executive Officer, President and Chair of Allegheny Energy, Inc., a regulated utility that served four mid-Atlantic states from 2003 to 2011. Additionally, Mr. Evanson has served as the President of Florida Power and Light, the largest utility in the state of Florida, and as a member of the board of directors of its public holding company, now known as NextEra, from 1992 to 2003. During his time at Florida Power and Light, Mr. Evanson was a trustee of the North American Electricity Reliability Council, which was responsible for the reliability of the entire U.S. electric network, and as Chair of the Florida Reliability Coordinating Council, which was responsible for the reliability of the Florida network. Mr. Evanson holds a B.B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from St. John’s University, a J.D. degree, cum laude, from Columbia Law School and an LL.M. degree from New York University School of Law. He was also awarded an honorary D.C.S. degree from St. John’s University. 

Benjamin M. Fink, Director of the Board

Benjamin M. Fink is a member of the Board of Directors of Zimmer Energy Acquisition Corp. Prior, Mr. Fink served as Executive Vice President, and Chief Financial Officer of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation which he joined in 2007. During his time at Anadarko, Mr. Fink served as Chairman of the Board of both the general partner of Western Gas Equity Partners, LP and the general partner of Western Gas Holdings, LP from November 2018 until August 2019. Prior to serving as Chairman, Mr. Fink held multiple positions at both the general partner of Western Gas Equity Partners, LP and the general partner of Western Gas Holdings, LP between 2009 and 2017, including Chief Executive Officer, President, Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President and Treasurer. Before joining Anadarko, Mr. Fink was an independent financial consultant to the company in its former Beijing, China and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil offices. He holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
